How it all started
In 1899 Charles Hunt made the journey from Somerset to Cardiff and established a printing company which, four generations later, is still a friendly family business, but with wider horizons and greater capacity than Charles Hunt could ever have imagined.
The company has grown to be a highly respected supplier of print to businesses throughout Wales and over the length and breadth of the United Kingdom, delivering from as far north as Aberdeen to St Ives in Cornwall, from the western edge of Pembrokeshire to the east coast of Kent.
Over the years we have built up an enviable reputation of quality printing and excellent service which we offer to our customers.
From its humble beginnings in Frederick Street, Chas Hunt has moved over the years to a modern 6,500 square feet unit in East Cardiff. With rapid access to the M4, yet only minutes away from the City centre, we are ideally placed to serve our customers both in Cardiff and further afield in England or Wales...or beyond.
The family atmosphere of this company is such that many employees have stayed with the firm for 30 or 40 (or more!) years, giving an unsurpassed wealth of experience to our printing and finishing operations.
Our present sales staff have over 112 years of experience between them! However, printing technology never stands still, and from the labour-intensive days of letterpress when Chas Hunt employed more than 10 compositors, the company has constantly invested and re-invested in in the latest technology, culminating in today's computer-to-plate repro system and five-colour Heidelberg Press, with modern binding equipment to provide the complete printing solution.
Our commitment to providing an expert, friendly and efficient service has meant that we have weathered the many economic storms over the last century, emerging fitter and stronger to serve our customers in the 21st century.....and beyond?
